@snacks back in the day it was easy to figure out which ones are the good mainboards: you just looked at the sound chip they used, and bought whatever board had Analog Devices instead of realtek
nowadays they’re all the same. they license the same firmware too, it just has a different skin. so instead i’d pick the one with the highest ratio of SATA ports to LEDs
