all i need is bandcamp, rutracker and a big SD card in my phone (i’m not even old-fashioned it’s just that mobile internet access in germany is absolute dogshit)

actually really like sites like bandcamp because discovering music there is a deliberate, conscious activity. bandcamp shows only a few recommendations, and often half of them come from the artists whose page you’re on. i’ve found some real gems that way, especially metal and rock

i also like to discover music by listening to DJ mixes. there are actual humans whose entire job it is to have good taste, who can drag you far out of your comfort zone and introduce you to things you never thought you’d love
