think i still have my cowon d2 at home…
but my phone is perfectly adequate. not all sony phones have dedicated high-end DACs, but turns out they don’t actually need those. the ones integrated in qualcomm’s SoCs are not bad at all. people often complain about them being too quiet and sounding bad, but that’s actually android’s fault: it sometimes unconditionally switches the audio hardware into ultra low power mode with no way to change it
