it’s actually kind of impressive how smooth quickshell and niri are on this old laptop. there’s almost no judder
it’s impressive because it originally came with a 1366x768 display, which was about the limit of what the intel iGPU could handle at the time. i upgraded it to 1920x1080 anyway and it’s been sorta laggy ever since, but then wayland happened and ever since then it’s been getting better again. only web browsers are really laggy
