@hailey actually pretty amazing it manages to cause that much energy consumption/cpu usage for you
my pipewire setup is really complex and has things like LV2 plugins and FIR speaker correction filters in there, and it’s configured to prefer lower latency. but playing a bunch of audio streams over the laptop speakers increases power usage by 0.1W-0.2W at most (old intel haswell laptop)
just having a browser rendering anything at all is far heavier
god i still haven’t fixed the bitlbee bridge. i need pisscord for work unfortunately, i’d never use it if it weren’t for that
