@k4t3 I’m using sailfish as a daily driver. development is slow because it’s a niche thing, but active.

there’s official support for android apps if you buy a license, which has better integration than e.g. waydroid. don’t expect things like nfc and bluetooth to work well with android apps though.

in my experience it works well and is generally more robust than android, which i’ve seen randomly breaking in strange ways (stops charging the battery for no discernible reasons when other systems still do it just fine, nukes the firmware’s USB port configuration, routes call audio incorrectly so the other end gets insane feedback, does completely unrecoverable shit to the hardware…)
