@lanodan @phnt also reminded of the autoconf/automake macros that are necessary on precisely zero platforms but will redefine malloc to some replacement it expects the user to provide when it’s not looking like glibc malloc
autotools was never about portability. it was about making unportable GNU shit work on non-GNU platforms so that GNU can be built for them
