for some packages like bzip2 i’m literally just dropping meson build system files in there because that’s easier than making the upstream thing work well.
for most things that use meson i literally only have a single line in the rpm spec file:
BuildSystem: mingw64mesonit cross compiles and even runs the test suites (via wine). and it consistently works, contrary to other build systems. shoutout to ctest for not even having a concept of cross-compiled executables that need a wrapper to run
