actually if i were a mastodon admin i’d double down on the post length restrictions and treat them the same way i treat the file size restrictions on 0x0.st, in that bypassing them by splitting your posts will get you suspended

rationale being, if you’re trying to post more than 1000 characters at a time it means you’re getting way ahead of yourself and you’re probably wasting your stimulant high on giving a lecture a non-existent audience. keep it short enough to start a dialogue and let people ask questions. if no one does then no one cares, simple as.
